Berdoll Pecan Candy & Gift Company at 2626 Highway 71 West is the retail and production headquarters of a family pecan farm. Current first-party material describes pecans being sanitized, graded, cracked and shelled, then used for candy, chocolate-coated products and pies sold in the adjoining store. The retail floor also carries pecan oils, honey butters, shirts, purses, candles, lotions and Texas souvenirs. Outside, the 14-foot squirrel statue known as Ms. Pearl marks the property, while a front-porch vending machine sells full pecan pies and other treats after store hours. No public production tour or guaranteed viewing area is represented.
