Field notes
Why it belongs
Natural-history specimens, taxidermy, anatomical and medical antiques, sideshow history, religious artifacts, vintage objects, clothing, and collectibles.
The store crosses natural history, medicine, antiques, sideshow culture, art, and novelty retail without fitting a normal store category.
The store presents strange retail objects with the density of a private museum collection. Its inventory may include animal skulls, taxidermy, antique dental and medical equipment, sideshow photographs, religious objects, uranium glass, preserved specimens, vintage ephemera, merchandise, and other objects selected for their unusual histories or physical qualities.
