Cowtown Farmers Market & Rodeo
Pilesgrove, NJ
A twice-weekly Pilesgrove market where 400+ indoor and outdoor vendors sell produce, food, clothes, tools, antiques, electronics, crafts and flea-market finds on the same Cowtown complex that turns into a professional rodeo on Saturday nights during the season.
Cowtown combines one of South Jersey's largest long-running vendor markets with a seasonal professional rodeo born from the same family-run commercial complex.
Field notes
Why it belongs
Large indoor-and-outdoor farmers market, flea market, food market, changing general vendor marketplace and seasonal professional-rodeo complex.
A 400-plus-vendor, twice-weekly market shares its long-running property with a separately scheduled seasonal professional rodeo.
Cowtown Farmers Market has operated since 1926 and now brings more than 400 changing vendors into indoor, heated and outdoor spaces twice each week, year-round and rain or shine. Produce, prepared food, apparel, tools, plants, electronics, crafts, antiques and flea-market goods are among its broad categories, but individual vendors can change. During its separate seasonal schedule, the same Cowtown property hosts a Saturday-night professional rodeo with seven rodeo events. Cowtown describes it as the country's oldest weekly professional rodeo; that claim remains attributed to the business. The former livestock auction closed in 2007 and is not presented as current.
