Farm Life Creamery
Ethan, SD
An Ethan dairy where milk from the family herd becomes bottled milk, small-batch cheese and old-fashioned ice cream, then moves into an on-farm store surrounded by animals, mini golf, a playground and scheduled creamery tours.
Farm Life Creamery connects dairy farming, food manufacturing, direct retail and family agritourism at one rural South Dakota property.
Field notes
Why it belongs
Working dairy, licensed milk bottling, cheesemaking, ice-cream production, Farm Store, educational tours and farm attractions at one property.
Farm production, small-scale food manufacturing, direct retail and hands-on family recreation meet at the Ethan property rather than operating as separate destinations.
Farm Life Creamery operates from the family’s Ethan dairy, where milk from its Holstein herd is bottled and turned into small-batch cheese and old-fashioned ice cream for direct sale through the Farm Store. The destination also includes animals, picnic areas, an 18-hole mini-golf course, a tractor-tire playground and scheduled educational tours explaining dairy processing. As of this publication check, Farm Life’s own site says the Ethan farm and creamery is closed for the remainder of the 2026 season while its separate Mitchell retail location remains open; the two locations are not interchangeable.
