Hussey's turns the old one-stop rural mercantile idea up to an almost implausible scale, combining everyday groceries and hardware with sporting goods, clothing, farm supplies, furnishings and a serious bridal department.

Current departments include groceries and a butcher operation, hardware, feed and grain, sporting goods, hunting and fishing merchandise, clothing, home furnishings, gifts and Maine souvenirs. Then there is the bridal department: a real appointment-only shop selling wedding and formal wear inside the same rural mercantile. The result is one of the clearest examples of the OddStops premise — a place where categories that ordinarily require separate businesses simply occupy different parts of the same building.
