The Lost Library
Salem, MA
A Salem gift shop arranged around a life-size witch’s cottage, a curiosity cabinet, gothic library shelves, mystical décor, local work, and an enormous glowing pumpkin.
The Lost Library turns its retail floor into a walk-through fantasy environment where books, witchy gifts, curiosities, jewelry, art, and Salem souvenirs gather around a built-in cottage and theatrical displays.
Field notes
Why it belongs
Immersive gift shop, gothic library, witch-cottage set, curiosity cabinet, local-maker market, bookshop, mystical boutique, and giant-pumpkin photo environment.
The built environment is inseparable from the shopping: visitors pass through a full-size cottage and themed rooms rather than browsing ordinary souvenir racks.
The Lost Library is part shop and part set. Dark library shelves and celestial murals lead to a life-size witch’s cottage, while a curiosity corner and a giant illuminated pumpkin divide the room into small discoveries. The merchandise stays central: books, locally made pieces, jewelry, mystical objects, décor, art, and Salem-themed gifts are sold throughout the experience. It sits within Salem’s Haunted Neighborhood beside the Salem Wax Museum, but the shop has its own street-level identity and can be visited as a retail destination.
