World's Wonder View Tower
Genoa, CO
A restored 1926 plains tower where a historic roadside museum, immersive Colorado art, surviving curiosities, retro merchandise, local crafts, restored signs, and a climb to the observation deck revive one of the state's strangest highway stops.
World's Wonder View Tower reopened in 2026 as a restored roadside attraction combining a historic tower climb, museum interpretation, immersive art, surviving pieces of its famously eccentric past, and a gift shop built around Colorado makers and retro roadside culture.
Field notes
Why it belongs
Historic roadside tower, museum, immersive-art installation, observation deck, gift shop, local-artisan store, and surviving cabinet of curiosities.
The current retail mix is narrower than most OddStops listings, but the physical destination is the exception: visitors climb a century-old tower through art and history at a property whose identity was built around one of Colorado's legendary roadside museums.
Rising above the eastern Colorado plains outside Genoa, World's Wonder View Tower was built for the first great era of automobile tourism and spent decades attracting travelers with a view, a museum, and increasingly bizarre collections. After years of closure and restoration, the tower reopened in May 2026. Today's experience combines the restored climb and observation platform with history, immersive work by Colorado artists, preserved signs and artifacts, current curiosities, and a gift-shop component featuring retro and Colorado-made merchandise. The old museum's most famous objects should be treated as history — much of that collection was auctioned — but the revived destination still carries the eccentric spirit that made the stop famous.
