Yarn and wool retail, active commercial milling, free production viewing, spinning, dyeing and in-house knitting at one Buffalo property.
Mountain Meadow Wool Mill combines an active commercial wool-processing operation with a retail shop for yarn, fiber products, knitted apparel, throws, blankets, accessories and other changing wool goods. Its free self-guided tour is available whenever the retail store is open and follows an upper mezzanine over the production floor, explaining the route from raw wool intake through scouring and washing, drying, combing, spinning and hand dyeing to finished yarn. The mill also operates in-house knitting. Groups of 15 or more are asked to arrange a visit in advance. Production varies, so no particular machine, fiber lot or processing stage is promised during every visit. The company emphasizes Wyoming-grown and American wool and calls itself the largest full-service wool mill in the West; both remain company-attributed claims rather than a single-ranch or independently certified statement.
